Originally hailing from sunny Sydney, Liz Schaffer moved to London a little over six years ago - as it did seem to be the epicentre of travel and words - and forgot to leave. After spending time as a freelance travel writer and photographer she decided to create a publication that took a slower approach to travel by exploring a single country every issue. The result was Lodestars Anthology, an independent magazine-meets-journal for curious travellers who long to be inspired, see the world and meet interesting characters along the road. Through a collection of guides, interviews, essays, photographs and illustrations, Lodestars Anthology aims to capture the essence of a country in a very fresh, positive way. Countries covered so far are England, Scotland, Australia, Italy, Sweden, Canada, Japan and New Zealand (due out in August), with magazines on France and India currently in development. Liz is also working on her first coffee table book - any excuse to travel really.
Liz will be share the joys and challenges that come with setting up a small business, and the benefits of collaboration and organic growth. She'll also touch on how Lodestars Anthology captures travel and creativity in our increasingly switched on world.
